This project focused on how traditional mythological creatures would fit into our home and society today as can be seen by the Cyclops and Medusa illustrations. I then developed the project to create new mythological creatures that would exist today based on different animals. One creature based on animals that are extinct, another using animals that are endangered and the final creature based on animals that are commonly seen as a nuisance but have a large population due to humans (fox, rat and pigeon). Each of these creatures possess a unique power based on their reason for being created (human fault).
Vendetta- This creature will visit the dreams of people who are deemed malicious or cruel, who intentionally harm others in some way, warning them to change their ways. If the person continues on long enough they will one day awaken as an extinct animal and hence live-out their days as such. | ||

Penitence- This creature will give aid to any animal in danger of being harmed by a human. It will lend the animal the power they need to survive, escape or fight back; be it speed, strength or something else. | Porte Malheur- This creature will bring bad luck to the houses which have been built upon animal dens, burrows and nests, forcing these animals further from their homes. These newly built homes will experience regularly cut Wifi, power outages, missing mail, faulty heating and peeling wallpaper. |
